Three new tenants headed for PIC West

Posted online
Three companies are slated to build new facilities and begin operations next year in Partnership Industrial Center West, located near the Springfield-Branson National Airport.

Green Seed Co., a local division of St. Paul, Kan.-based Beachner Seed Co., and Springfield-based Crosstech Construction Products have already closed on land purchases inside the park.

Green Seed acquired 6.2 acres with plans to build a $2 million, 50,000-square-foot facility, according to division manager Terry Altic. Crosstech acquired 5 acres with plans to build a $1.35 million 30,000-square-foot facility, according to majority owner Kevin Cross.

The third company, Seltzer Cos. Inc., agreed a few weeks ago on a 7.2-acre land deal in PIC West, pending due diligence. Their plans call for a 75,000-square-foot, highly automated facility that will have about 50 employees, according to PIC West point man Greg Williams, senior vice president of economic development for Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Springfield Business & Development Corp.

Seltzer, a Carlsbad, Calif.-based subsidiary of publicly traded, Ireland-based Glanbia PLC, would likely operate in Springfield as Seltzer Nutritional Technologies, manufacturing wholesale nutritional supplements in spray and liquid form, according to Troy Compton, president of the PIC West Administrative Council, which is the group that approves land sales within the park.

Compton also said negotiations are under way with another five undisclosed companies.
