Three executives who oversaw financials of the Chesterfield-based nonprofit health system Mercy – Springfield’s largest employer – have left the firm abruptly.
Mercy officials did not explain the reasons behind the exits of Randy Combs, executive vice president and chief financial officer; Sheri Beekman, chief revenue cycle officer; and Donna Chandler, vice president for patient receivables. Combs had worked for Mercy for 25 years, and was named CFO in 2009, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Executive Vice President Shannon Sock was pegged to serve as CFO while continuing to lead the system’s strategic business development efforts. Long-time Mercy employee Jon Vitiello was named to the newly created role of senior vice president of finance, overseeing all aspects of finance and revenue management. Kim Day, formerly regional president for Mercy’s central region, was tabbed to provide interim executive oversight for Mercy’s revenue management team.
In fiscal 2012, Mercy’s operating revenue was roughly $4 billion, according to the article.
