Three finalists named for Greene County judge post

Posted online
Three finalists have been narrowed down from an application pool of 16 for Greene County's new associate circuit court judge post.

Interviewed yesterday by the 31st Circuit Judicial Commission, finalists are attorneys:
  • Chantel Alberhasky of Alberhasky Law Firm PC;
  • Ron Carrier of the Missouri attorney general's office; and
  • Rob Aiken of Aiken Law Firm.
The final decision is in the hands of Gov. Jay Nixon, who has 60 days to select the new judge, according to a Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association news release.

The Missouri General Assembly funded the position during this year's session.

Yesterday marked the first time the judicial commission - comprising members Chief Judge William W. Francis Jr., Clif Smart, Andrew Bennett, Linda Fowler and Steven Stepp - implemented the nonpartisan judicial selection process since it was approved by voters in 2008, according to the release.
