Theater event to raise funds for former director

Posted online
Springfield Little Theatre is planning a fund-raiser to benefit the family of former director Mick Denniston, who was seriously injured in a Dec. 18 car accident.

Denniston remains in critical condition at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, according to Rachel Peacock-Young, director of marketing for the theater. He was returning home from his daughter’s graduation from Arizona State University at the time of the accident.

“Friends, Follies & Funds” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at Landers Theater, 311 E. Walnut St. Scheduled performers include Kim Crosby, Nick Sibley and Ruell Chappell, The Skinny Improv, Springfield Little Theatre’s Y.E.S. Troupe, Jim and Judy Billings and Marcia Haseltine.

The event is free, but donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will support the Mick Denniston Fund at Guaranty Bank. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted; checks should be made payable to Denniston’s wife, Kathleen M. Denniston.

Collected funds will help the Denniston family cover travel and medical expenses.

Denniston is director of development for Springfield Catholic Schools, where he has been since 2002. He previously directed Springfield Little Theatre for 18 years.[[In-content Ad]]
