Based on responses New York Times reporters received from state election officials around the country, there's no evidence that fraud or other irregularities played a role in the outcome of the presidential race.
President Donald Trump has made such claims, as have members of his administration and congressional Republicans.
In the Times' efforts, officials in 45 states responded directly and in four other states reporters spoke to secondary statewide officials or found public comments from secretaries of state; none reported any major voting issues. Texas was the only state that did not respond to repeated inquiries.
