Mark Snow, who's worked in Springfield real estate for seven years, opened his own commercial real estate company, The Snow Group LLC, in mid-February. Snow said his focus is on properties in Springfield and Joplin, but he handles commercial real estate needs for clients all over southwest Missouri. |ret||ret||tab|

He conducts the majority of his business on site at the properties he represents. Right now, Snow said he has more than 15,000 square feet of property available in southwest Missouri.|ret||ret||tab|

"In this market, you have to have a fair amount of range," Snow said. "Most people that look at this area don't just look at one town if they want to have good growth. They're looking at all of the area." |ret||ret||tab|

Snow worked for several years with Follman Properties/ONCOR International, and before starting The Snow Group, he worked for six months with Mellinger Commercial. Several of the clients he now serves have been with him for several years. For those clients, Snow said, the only thing that's changed is the logo on his business card.|ret||ret||tab|

"I'm doing commercial real estate ... which has been my main focus the last four to five years. My services that I'm providing aren't any different. The only thing that's changed is that I'm running the company now," he said. |ret||ret||tab|

Specifically, Snow represents property owners and buyers, and handles property leasing for property owners as well as companies looking for space to lease. |ret||ret||tab|

"I also specialize in site selection for companies. ... If a company was coming into town and needed five locations in southwest Missouri, I could work with that company and provide service for all five locations," Snow added.|ret||ret||tab|

Springfield growth is occurring at a great pace, he said, and the commercial field in southwest Missouri has a lot of growth potential. |ret||ret||tab|

"The Springfield area and the surrounding area are just now large enough for some of our larger anchor tenants coming into this area ... look at the last few years. We've had Home Depot ... all of the Walgreens ... Springfield is coming into its own, and (that) will only spur future growth," he said.|ret||ret||tab|

Snow said working for himself is something he's always thought about, and he emphasizes personal attention for clients. "The people that I work with, I feel, are not just another listing. I like to work as hard as I can for each individual person," he said.|ret||ret||tab|

While Snow said it's not uncommon for commercial real estate professionals to conduct business on site at the properties they handle, he plans to someday establish a physical location for his company. But when that happens, he said, customer service won't suffer.|ret||ret||tab|

"I'm not going to be an office that's 20 people deep. I still want to focus on the customers. If and when I do grow, it will be (with) somebody that has the same focus I have," he said.|ret||ret||tab|
