The New York Times Co. has acquired popular game Wordle.
The purchase from creator Josh Wardle was “in the low seven figures," according to officials with The New York Times.
Wordle, in which once a day players get six chances to guess a five-letter word, has skyrocketed in popularity since its release in October. Millions of people now play the game daily.
