The Network, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s organization for regional professionals under age 40, yesterday announced its selection for 2015 Young Professional of the Year.
Matthew Morris, Missouri State University’s associate vice president for administrative and information services, was selected over two other finalists: Diana Day, business manager with People Centric Consulting Group, and Travis Tindall, principal and architect with nForm Architecture LLC, according to a news release.
At MSU, Morris is tasked with assisting Vice President for Administrative and Information Services Ken McClure, and he’s also been involved in capital projects including athletic and recreation fields, the O’Reilly Clinical Health Science Center, the Davis-Harrington Welcome Center and renovations of Pummill Hall and Sunvilla Tower.
A member of Leadership Springfield Class 30, Morris also has served on the board of the Urban Districts Alliance and as a member of the Springfield chamber’s governmental relations committee and the IDEA Commons infrastructure committee, according to the release.
Founded in 2007, The Network has roughly 470 members representing 215 area businesses. Morris was announced as the award winner during a luncheon held yesterday.[[In-content Ad]]
