The Most Popular Instagram Hashtags

Social media and tech blogger Mike Beauchamp reveals the 100 most popular photo hashtags on Instagram. 
According to a site called Webstagr.am, No. 1 is #love, and No. 100 is #in.

Beauchamp says there are two reasons Instagram users should care: using hashtags makes photos visible to a larger community, more than just the people who are already following you, and it helps you find other users to follow who take photos like yours in much the same way. Beauchamp, who is from Wichita, Kan., should know; he has 33,000 Instagram followers.

Ever wonder how many hashtags Instagram permits on each photo? Up to 30. But don’t get careless, he warns.

Beauchamp says while it might be amusing to make up ridiculous hashtags, it doesn’t do any good if other people aren’t using it, too. “Something like #ILoveHashtagsAndIDontCareWhatYouThink is pointless (and annoying),” he says.
