The Mentors Project: Stephen Kleinsmith

Posted online
MENTEE
Matt Teeter, school superintendent in Smithton

OBJECTIVE
Provide him with a user-friendly, go-to professional who will assist him in any way possible without judging him or his actions. And to share my 17 years of being a superintendent with someone just beginning the profession.

HOW
Phone conversations, texting, site visits, share and discuss book and article reads, and attend workshops/conferences together.

RESULTS
Matt was offered a three-year contract with his school district with a nice raise. We also log our hours together.

CHALLENGES
Setting aside the quality time one needs to mentor.

YOUR MENTOR
Keith Lutz of Millard Public Schools
