The 38,000-square-foot building that formerly housed Heilig Meyers Furniture will be a new north-side library for the Springfield-Greene County Library District. It will provide nearly three times the space of the existing Kearney Street Branch, which it will replace. The Library Station will offer drive-up window service, meeting rooms, a children's library, a consumer-law collection, an automotive repair collection and a satellite genealogy collection. The library will have a coffee-bagel-sandwich shop accessible from the lobby. The library's dcor will celebrate the transportation history of Springfield and the region. James C. Stufflebeam, AIA, is the project architect. |ret||ret||tab|
