The Larson Group, which operates seven Peterbilt dealerships including those in Springfield and Joplin, has invited those who bought the trucks from its dealers. As of Aug. 9, there were between 40 and 50 reservations for the reunion, Collins said. The customer-appreciation event will feature a truck show for the 379X trucks.
“They come really decked to the nines. They have extra chrome. They have nicer amenities on the inside, like the leather and the brushed steel,” she said. “And (the reunion)’s just a way to say, ‘Thank you for choosing The Larson Group to buy this truck.’”
The reunion will run 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Aug. 20, Collins said. It will open to the public at 1 p.m. following some invitation-only activities.
“We’re going to feed them lunch, and (they’ll) enter their trucks in the show,” she said. “We’re going to take an individual picture of them with their truck, which will be mailed to them … and then we are also going to take a big group picture.”
Throughout the day there will be games for children, and visitors will be able to see the 379X trucks up close.
“They’re over-the-road Class A trucks, but they also can be appreciated by the everyday person who is not a truck connoisseur,” Collins said.
Collins said The Larson Group plans to hold annual X Family reunions for several years.[[In-content Ad]]
