Universal Pictures’ “The Croods: A New Age” opened at the domestic box office with $14.2 million over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to studio estimates.
The film outperformed expectations. However, it's a far cry from box office totals a year earlier. The 2019 Thanksgiving holiday winner was "Frozen II" with a $123.7 million opening.
"The Croods" is expected to shift to streaming for a $20 rental before Christmas.
