The changes Chick-fil-A isn't crowing about

People clamor for healthy alternatives to the overly processed fast food options they are accustomed to – until those changes are actually made to their favorite deep-fried drive-through dinners. Which might explain why Chick-fil-A, maker of the popular breaded chicken, mayo and pickle on a white bun sandwich, hasn’t aggressively marketed the healthy changes the sandwich has undergone recently.
 
According to Bloomberg Businessweek, the chain has been swapping out unhealthy ingredients for healthier options for about a decade now. Trans-fats where axed in 2006, sodium levels have been gradually reduced and breads, free of high-fructose corn syrup for some time, are losing their preservatives. And more changes are in the wings. But why stay mum about going healthy?

“We didn’t necessarily want the customer to know we’ve tweaked their favorite product,” said Jodie Worrell, Chick-fil-A’s senior nutrition consultant.
