This bronze bobcat time capsule, designed by Jeff Brundege of Rogersville (who is featured in this week's special section) and cast by Don Goin of Bruner, was unveiled at the American National Fish and Wildlife Museum Jan. 26. The museum has launched a middle-school writing contest to determine some of the items to be included in the time capsule, which will be sealed Nov. 2. It will not be opened until Nov. 2, 2102. The bobcat's eyes open when the capsule is opened, and close when it is sealed. Richly detailed with leaves, animals, insects and nature scenes, the time capsule was made possible by a contribution from Linda and Jerry Jared.
