Dale Pearce, who founded The Carpet Shoppe Inc. in 1970, has died.
Pearce, 91, died Nov. 14 "after a lengthy illness," according to his obituary posted to GormanScharpf.com.
The obituary indicates that his wife of 41 years, Pam, "worked alongside Dale at The Carpet Shoppe and continues in the business."
Pam Pearce additionally provided a statement to Springfield Business Journal.
"Dale loved his family, friends and customers," the statement reads. "He had a deep faith and a strong work ethic, coming into The Carpet Shoppe every day until his health no longer allowed it. The Carpet Shoppe remains dedicated to his legacy under the current leadership."
Operating at 1827 E. Seminole St., The Carpet Shoppe sells and installs floor coverings that include carpeting, vinyl and hardwood, according to its website.
Pearce's obituary indicates funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 24 at King’s Way Methodist Church, followed by a burial at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
