PTT, Thailand's biggest oil company, is planning to invest $1.3 billion to grow its coffee shop franchise.
Over the next five years, PTT intends to open 17,700 new branches of the Cafe Amazon chain.
Cafe Amazon currently has some 2,300 branches in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Japan. Company officials want to expand into the Middle East and China, as well as other countries in the regions.
