The state securities regulator in Texas is investing cryptocurrency trading platform FTX and its billionaire founder, Sam Bankman-Fried.
Joe Rotunda, enforcement director of the Texas State Securities Board, argues accounts on the platform are akin to securities and should have been registered with the state.
Rotunda is asking a New York bankruptcy court to block Bankman-Fried’s $1.4 billion bid to buy the assets of bankrupt crypto lender Voyager Digital.
