The mayor of Colorado City, Texas, has resigned after telling residents that "only the strong will survive and the weak will [perish]" as the winter storm knocked out power to much of the state this week.
"The city and county, along with power providers or any other service, owes you nothing," Tim Boyd said via Facebook in a post that's since been deleted. "I'm sick and tired of people looking for a damn handout."
More than 20 people have died in the state, with millions of homes and businesses having lost power.
