Tesla unveils $35,000 model

Electric vehicle maker on Thursday unveiled a $35,000 model aimed at the mass market.

The car is expected to have a base range of 215 miles.

By last night, roughly 140,000 advance orders for the vehicles had been made, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
