Tesla Motors plans to appeal New Jersey’s decision to enact a ban on direct sales in the state, as the automaker continues its fight against franchised dealers.
The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company filed the appeal Wednesday, challenging the franchise laws in New Jersey. Last month, the state's Motor Vehicle Commission altered its rules to require car retailers to have a franchise agreement with manufacturers, according to Fox News.
Tesla is required to stop selling its Model S sedan directly to consumers by April 15.
