Tesla teaming with Panasonic on solar cells

Tesla Motors and Panasonic announced yesterday they signed a deal to produce photovoltaic cells and modules in Buffalo, New York.

The partnership involves Tesla's pending acquisition of SolarCity, which would be involved in sales and financing of the cells.

Tesla and Panasonic already are partnering on a battery plant outside Reno.
