Tesla makes all-stock offer to buy SolarCity

Elon Musk's Tesla Motors Inc. announced yesterday it made a bid to acquire solar panel maker SolarCity Corp.

The all-stock deal is worth as much as $2.8 billion.

Tesla shares dropped more than 10 percent on the news, while SolarCity's stock price moved up 23 percent.
