Tesla announced it's cutting the starting costs of its U.S. electric vehicles by $2,000.
The announcement comes as the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles was halved at the end of 2018.
The Model 3 sedan, Tesla's first mass-market vehicle that hasn't been manufactured yet, now starts at $35,950.
