Tesla autopilot head leaves after 6 months

After just six months on the job, the head of Tesla's autopilot unit left the company.

Chris Lattner, a longtime Apple software guru, announced his departure in a tweet yesterday.

Earlier in the evening, Tesla announced the hiring of Andrej Karpathy as the company’s new director of artificial intelligence and autopilot.
