Terror attacks cost Air France $54M

Officials with Air France KLM say terrorist attacks that occurred Nov. 13 in Paris caused a $54 million drop in revenue for the company that month.

Many visitors canceled trips in the wake of the attacks that killed 130 people. Airline owners said the incident is likely to affect passenger volumes into next year.

Other tourism-related industries including hotels and restaurants experienced revenue declines in November, according to the Bank of France, which revised its economic growth forecast for the fourth quarter to 0.3 percent from 0.4 percent.

The No. 1 industry in Paris, tourism accounts for 500,000 area jobs and nearly $23 billion in 2014 revenue.
