Tencent to buy ‘Clash of Clans’ developer for $8.6B

Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. and its partners agreed to pay $8.6 billion for an 84.3 percent state in the developer of popular mobile game “Clash of Clans."

The deal values Finnish game maker Supercell at $10.2 billion.

The stake currently is owned by Japanese telecommunications giant SoftBank Group Corp. and the Finnish company’s current and former employees.
