Developers say four tenants have signed on for the retail center being built kitty-corner from Bass Pro Shops at Campbell Avenue and Sunshine Street.
AT&T, Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care and Missouri Title Loans Inc. are slated to fill three of the four spaces in the 7,500-square-foot shopping center, said developer Jason Pullman of East Sunshine Property Group LLC.
A 3,500-square-foot, free-standing building also is planned at the corner of the site, where Pullman said an undisclosed restaurant group has signed on for the space. He said construction on the building should start by year's end.
With a lease rate of $40 per square foot triple net, Pullman said most of the tenants have signed 10-year leases with options.
The 1750 S. Campbell Ave. center has one remaining suite with 1,675 square feet available for lease. Pullman declined to disclose the estimated cost of the project, though a Springfield building permit listed a $1 million declared valuation.
Cody Ritter of general contractor Base Construction & Management LLC said construction is expected to wrap up by January. Infill work will need to be done before tenants can open by the spring, Pullman said.
Pullman said he doesn’t anticipate putting a name on the multitenant retail center.
“We want the stores to be the focus,” he said.
Pullman and his business partner, Jeff Hebbel, launched Springfield’s first Zaxby’s restaurant in September 2016 at 3220 E. Sunshine St., followed by a second location in James River Commons two years later. Pullman and Hebbel also have opened three local franchises of Firehouse Subs,.
