Springfield-based TelComm Credit Union is set to cut the ribbon this week on its new operations center that's been under construction since 2023.
The 1730 S. Luster Ave. operations center spans 32,000 square feet and is located immediately north of the company's branch at 2155 E. Sunshine St., according to past reporting. The project, announced last year, is across Sunshine from Hy-Vee and between TelComm's branch and The Columns Apartments.
“The completion of our operations center marks a new chapter for TelComm Credit Union, allowing us to improve our internal efficiencies and better serve our members,” said Jessica Shorney, the organization's president and CEO, in a news release.
TelComm officials said in the release that the operations center brings teams including the card department, compliance and marketing under one roof. Rental office space is also built in.
DeWitt & Associates Inc. served as construction manager for the structural steel building development, with Hood-Rich Inc. hired as the project architect and interior designer and frankZdesign LLC as landscape architect, according to past reporting.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Oct. 24. TelComm plans to present a donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield as part of the event, according to the release.
Tea Bar & Bites Bakery & Cafe changed ownership; the Springfield-Greene County Health Department relocated one of its clinics; and a Joplin real estate investment organization affiliated with a national trade group formed the Springfield Real Estate Investors Association.
