San Francisco-based Scale AI is conducting layoffs, which come about a month after Meta invested in the company and recruited its CEO, Alexandr Wang.
Scale AI is cutting 200 full-time employees, representing about 14% of its workforce. The company is also parting ways with some 500 contractors.
When announcing the hiring of Wang, Meta officials said the company would invest $14.3 billion into Scale AI. The latter company's valuation rose to $29 billion through the deal.
