Pop star Taylor Swift's Sunday Instagram post encouraging her 112 million followers to register to vote has prompted a spike in registrations.
Kamari Guthrie, director of communications for Vote.org, said the organization recorded registration growth of 65,000 in the 24 hours after Swift's post.
During September, 190,178 new voters were registered nationwide, up from 56,669 in August.
