Tax credits to help Pregnancy Care Center expand

Posted online
A Springfield not-for-profit organization has been approved for Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits.

The Pregnancy Care Center, 1923 S. National Ave., Ste. C, has qualified for $250,000 in tax credits from the Missouri Department of Economic Development, according to a Tuesday DED news release.

The center will use the credits to conduct a capital campaign for the acquisition and renovation of a new facility, which will allow it to expand programming and capacity, according to the release. Once expanded, the organization expects to serve 1,900 teens and young adults annually.

Programs at the center include health pregnancy classes, ultrasounds, mentoring and enrichment, fatherhood, adoption education and abstinence and prevention education.

The tax credits are offered to businesses that make contributions to the center for its DED-approved improvement project. Businesses can donate cash, materials, supplies or equipment; technical assistance and professional services; labor; real estate; or stocks and bonds.[[In-content Ad]]
