Target to offer e-books

As Target works to build a more competitive e-commerce experience, it's partnering with a startup e-book subscription service called Librify to give customers an online platform for buying, sharing and discussing their favorite books.

According to USA Today, the official launch is several months away, but the announcement precedes the BookExpo in New York City, a publishing industry event staple.

Currently, Librify offers about 500,000 titles, about half of what Amazon offers. However, the company aims to build a social network, akin to virtual book clubs.
