Target to cut thousands of jobs in $2B growth strategy

Target plans to invest billions of dollars this year, streamlining operations, opening more small stores and creating a product mix designed to appeal to a younger, broader consumer demographic.

But in the process, the corporation will cut several thousand jobs during the next two years to reduce costs, according to USA Today.

Company officials didn't say specifically how many jobs will be cut, though it's expected most would be at its Minneapolis headquarters, where 13,000 are employed.
