Target shuts down in Canada

CNNMoney reports Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT) is shutting down its Canadian operations, which include 133 stores that employ 17,600 people.

Canadian stores have struggled for years and the company expects to report a $5.4 billion loss in the fourth quarter.

Overall, Target expects to pay between $500 million and $600 million to end its Canadian business, CNNMoney reports.

Target says it’s U.S. operations are going strong.
