Target could be next to hike minimum wage

It's not been made public, but according to CNNMoney, retail chain Target has been telling its employees that they are all about to get a raise this spring.
 
Hourly wages are expected to go to a starting point of $9, according to the report. The increase comes on the heels of similar moves to increase hourly employees' wages at other retailers, including Wal-Mart and TJX Companies, owner of T.J. Maxx.
 
The retail and service industries have been under pressure in recent years to increase the wages of its typically low-paid employees, many of whom qualify for public assistance despite working full-time jobs.
