Target is increasing its starting minimum wage to $15 per hour.
The decision makes permanent a $2 salary bump given during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company also announced that Juneteenth, recognizing the end of slavery in the United States, would be acknowledged as an annual holiday. Employees will be paid extra for working June 19.
