Taney County nabs $3M grant from state

Posted online
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded a $3 million grant to Taney County.

The grant would be used to build a regional biosolid dewatering and drying facility. Part of the county's wastewater treatment system, the facility would be built to reduce pathogens, volume and odors during the treatment of sewage, according to a news release.

The county, which will match the grant funding, expects to complete the $6.25 million project in July 2015.

Missouri's Clean Water State Revolving Fund dedicates partial funding toward green infrastructure, water and energy infrastructure, and environmentally innovative projects, the release said.
