Taney County gets go-ahead to implement EEZ

Posted online
The Missouri Department of Economic Development has given Taney County officials the go-ahead to implement a countywide Enhanced Enterprise Zone.

The designation includes the Branson, Bull Creek, Forsyth, Hollister, Kirbyville, Merriam Woods, Rockaway Beach and Taneyville municipalities, according to a news release.

Officials say the EEZ would provide economic benefits to enhance investments in the county.

Coordinated by the Taney County Business Development Partnership, the EEZ would provide local tax abatement of up to 50 percent on improvements to real property for up to 10 years. The designation would apply to eligible organizations adding at least two new jobs paying above the county's average salary and making a capital investment of at least $100,000, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
