Takata mulls bankruptcy for US unit

Japan's Takata is considering filing bankruptcy for its U.S. unit, a person briefed on the matter told Reuters.

Takata, which hired investment bank Lazard as an adviser, is seeking a sponsor to help pay for liabilities related to its faulty airbags.

The company's U.S. unit is Michigan-based TK Holdings.
