Taco Bell and Outback Steakhouse made marketing waves Tuesday with industry-leading technology announcements.

Taco Bell unveiled an app that lets customers order and pay on their smartphones and pick up their food via the drive-thru or in restaurants, according to USA Today.

Outback Steakhouse's new app allows customers to make reservations online. It also shows real-time waits for seating at every Outback in the country and lets the user get a place in line.
