Taco Bell debuts biscuit taco

Posted online
Taco Bell folded a biscuit in half and is calling it breakfast.

The latest effort by the Mexican-American fast food chain to claim their share of the breakfast market, the biscuit shaped like a taco includes eggs, cheese and your choice of bacon, sausage or crispy chicken, which comes with jalapeño honey or country gravy.

It’s the restaurant’s follow-up to the much talked about waffle taco, but also represents an increased focus on the morning meal. USA Today reports Taco Bell's new CEO Brian Niccol said breakfast currently accounts for just 6 percent of the chain's sales, but Niccol, who has been in the CEO slot for about three months, believes Taco Bell can someday more than triple that figure.

Beyond breakfast, Taco Bell is queueing up two other new offerings: the Frito Taco and Cap'n Crunch Delights. Like the name says, the Frito Taco will mimic the popular Doritos Locos Taco, except with a Frito corn chip shell. Cap'n Crunch Delights are doughnut holes filled with creamy milk icing and covered in Cap'n Crunch Berries cereal crumbs.
