T-Mobile is first carrier to remotely kill Note 7 batteries

T-Mobile has become the first to take action against Samsung Galaxy Note 7 holdouts.

On Wednesday, the company released an update preventing Note 7 users from charging devices, rendering them useless. AT&T, Verizon and Sprint plan to roll out similar updates during the first week of January.

The move will force owners of the fire-prone batteries who have not yet traded in their faulty devices to seek an alternative.
