T-Mobile extends lease for Springfield call center

Bellevue, Washington-based T-Mobile USA Inc. (Nasdaq: TMUS) has extended the lease for its Springfield call center, according to an announcement from property owner Gladstone Commercial Corp. (Nasdaq: GOOD).

McLean, Virginia-based Gladstone Commercial penned a new agreement through which T-Mobile agreed to continue occupying the 2645 N. Airport Plaza Ave. property through May 31, 2026. Terms were undisclosed in a news release.

“It has been a pleasure to work with T-Mobile’s personnel and cement their future in a building that works well for them,” said Perry Finney, senior asset manager for Gladstone Commercial, in the release. “This extension contributes to a greater weighted average lease term on our portfolio.”

T-Mobile has occupied the 78,000-square-foot property since 2006. T-Mobile broke ground on the $20 million northwest Springfield call center in October 2005, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

Gladstone Commercial bought the property in 2011 for nearly $16 million. The seller was TMC II Springfield MO LLC, according to past reporting. Gladstone in 2018 added 200 additional parking spots, according to the release.

Gladstone Commercial’s portfolio also includes the Walgreens pharmacy property at 1955 S. National Ave., according to its website.

T-Mobile ranked No. 18 on SBJ’s 2019 list of the area’s largest employers, with 825 local employees.
