Symphony offices move to Creamery

Posted online
The Springfield Symphony is moving in with its fellow arts organizations.

The Symphony board Monday approved an agreement that provides a 2,465-square-foot space for the symphony’s administrative offices inside the Creamery Arts Center at Jordan Valley Park, 411 N. Sherman Parkway.

The center already houses the Springfield Ballet and the Springfield Regional Opera, and the Springfield Little Theatre manages a costume shop there.

The Springfield Regional Arts Council will make the agreement official this afternoon at a board meeting.

The space will be provided rent-free, outside of maintenance costs, though the symphony will be responsible for raising up to $125,000 for renovation costs. The renovation will add two classrooms, an arts library and an arts group incubator office at the center. Other funding for the renovation has come from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and the Missouri Development Finance Board.

At the Creamery, the symphony will have access to the center’s amenities, including its meeting rooms and storage.[[In-content Ad]]
