SWA co-pilot who landed at wrong Mo. airport retiring

Posted online
Southwest Airlines Co. says the co-pilot of a plane that landed at the wrong airport in January has retired, while the plane's captain has resumed flying, according to the Associated Press.

Both had been on paid leave since the Jan. 12 incident.

Instead of landing at its destination at Branson Airport, the pilots landed at a smaller airport near College of the Ozarks and had to break hard to avoid a steep drop at the end of the runway.

Federal officials have confirmed pilot error in the incident, according to the AP.
