Posted online

The man who assaulted a Springfield Police Department officer with his vehicle also has been accused of vandalism.

Jon Routh, 28, allegedly wiped feces on black woman Carolyne Moss' car while she was running Saturday. The incident was thought to have been racially motivated, though Routh told police he thought the vehicle belonged to a man he was angry with and not Moss.

Routh is being held in Greene County Jail on first-degree assault and armed criminal action charges.
