John Wanamaker, managing partner at BKD, talks about weathering those inevitable stressful moments along the career path. He says having a mentor helped him through several challenging times along his journey. He was advised on the importance of being patient and persevering through the stressful times and to step back and look at the big picture to see that the tougher times are usually the times when you’re learning something new and challenging. He advises to adopt the posture of a life-long learner and to just see these difficult moments as growing pains that will pass and ultimately make you better at what you do.
