SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg died Friday of accidental head trauma while exercising on a vacation in Mexico with his wife and two children. He was 47.
The husband of Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, Goldberg appears to have lost his grip on the railings of a treadmill, fallen backward and hit his head, causing an inch-long wound and unconsciousness, officials say. He was found alive by his brother and rushed to a hospital in Nuevo Vallarta, where he died, according to USA Today.
Goldberg grew SurveyMonkey from a small shop to a venture-backed startup valued at $2 billion. The website is used to conduct online surveys and a host of other services.
