Survey: 41% of employers to downsize workforce in favor of AI

A World Economic Forum survey found 41% of employers plan to downsize their workforce over the next five years as they implement artificial intelligence solutions.

The survey of hundreds of large companies worldwide also found that 77% plan to reskill and upskill their existing workers to better work alongside AI.

“Advances in AI and renewable energy are reshaping the (labor) market — driving an increase in demand for many technology or specialist roles while driving a decline for others, such as graphic designers," WEF officials said.
